This car I built from the frame up and have been using it as my ‘big car’ since then. Have a couple of new bigs coming into the fold so I am making ‘Big Red’ available. Beautiful unwrecked dry SoCal body without rust anywhere. Pan sealed with Por 15 above and below before undercoating. Roman Red exterior with whiote vinyl and white vinyl top.
Mechanically we started with a 442 vintage number matching 400′E’ block with C heads and an Edelbrock manifold with a Performer carb and cam. Original ‘switch pitch’ TH400 rebuilt with a 3.08 Posi, discs in front and bigger drums in back. New springs and KYB’s at the corners, with AR ‘Torq-Thrusts 15X7″ in front and 15X8.5′s in back. Vallelunga exhaust with the factory X/Y manifolds.
Car itself is fully loaded with factory AC, tilt wheel and buckets and console. Remote trunk lock is noted with the custom trim package above the doors. Very rare and functional ‘Tic-Toc-Tach’ in the dash. Remote locking has been added with an alarm and the custom radio seen.
Car runs like a dream and all the paint and brightwork is very good to excellent. Paint show some years of careful use and is in very good shape. Interior is excellent and top is untorn with a clear glass and fresh seals, but has a bit of staining to the white vinyl. My personal car, it has never been abused or neglected.
